Government’s costly CITV boondoggle has been off air for a few weeks. The website has been down for even longer. Does anyone notice? Anyone care?
The Royal Gazette reports today that a survey conducted early last year, showed that just two percent of the population watched CITV – compared with 41 percent who watch ZBM, 16 percent who watch VSB, and three percent who watch Fresh TV-3.
The survey did not quantify the amount of time viewers spent watching the channels. Far more accurate data could be – and should be – provided by Cablevision for actual viewership of the “must carry” channels.
CITV costs approximately $1 million a year to run. The money would certainly be better spent elsewhere.
