XL CEO Micheal McGavick spoke to Insurance Day magazine yesterday making the case that Bermuda provides more to the US economy as an insurance centre than the US Government would claw back through punitive tax measures against the country.
Mr. McGavick said the Island’s most valuable industry asset was its “aggregation of talent”.
“While people could argue that talent is something of a movable feast, the reality is Bermuda is one of the world’s greatest concentrations of talent and I think people will see that contribution as too valuable to undermine.”
Bermuda must protect and hold on to that “aggregation of talent” – not foolishly alienate and export it through bad policies like term limits that undermine our jurisdiction.
