The world economic news is not good.
The heads of most countries are in the news, working with their community and business leaders, trying to build confidence and stoke the fires of commerce. Even Obama looks likes he’s aged a decade in the last week.
In Bermuda, we’ve had some warm piffle about how Government is “redoubling corporate outreach and pursuing legislative reform” to support our lagging corporate sectors … both local and international.
And sure, we’ve had a swell Obama party and been been Luminaried. Played a little golf.
But little real action on the economy. In fact, Government seems to be accelerating its PR efforts while pulling back on any actual policy development!
That’s pretty remarkable. Do we really have to wait another month for the budget before we get concrete information about Government’s plans to weather this economic storm?
