Dr. Brown says he wants to make sure that young Bermudians can get ahead in international business. This creates a certain sad irony:
- To get ahead in international business, you need a good education.
- If you have a top education and international work exposure, you are more likely to view the PLP’s management of Bermuda negatively. With this exposure to the larger world, you are also more likely to marry a non-Bermudian.
- Under the PLP’s pattern of behavior, this makes you a lesser Bermudian.
I have never heard such consistent disillusionment amongst my professional Bermudian peers about the fate of Bermuda, with some seriously considering those transfer offers to work in their companies’ Stamford, Dublin, or Zurich offices.
Well, friends, you have money and you have brains. What you have not sought is influence. If you believe change is needed in Bermuda, it is time to step up and speak out!
