Belco has issued a solicitation for companies interested in developing renewable energy generation facilities in Bermuda that will generate power for sale to Belco over the long term, with options ranging from biomass to solar, and wave to wind.
At the same time, the Greenrock group is encouraging Government to revise its tariffs to reduce the importation cost of sustainable items.
These are both positive steps as Bermuda must wean itself from its dependence on imported fuel.
Now if we could only harness the hot air generated by our politicians …
