Blustery Opinions From Bermuda

Ewartspeak

February 25th, 2008 · No Comments · Bermuda Politics

Some nuggets of Ewartspeak from the House of Disassembly on Friday.

On the rebuilding of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Dr. Brown said other healthcare priorities had to be dealt with, such as tackling problems revealed by Ombudsman Arlene Brock.

Indeed, and one of the largest problems identified by the Ombudsman was constant political interference by a “powerful black doctor.”

Dr. Brown also said that he hoped the Opposition would not carry on talking about last year’s election and all the [PLP race-baiting] rhetoric that went with it in the House of Assembly.

However, Opposition MP Grant Gibbons rebutted that the Premier himself had done exactly that with snide comments throughout his speech.

Of course, Bermuda does not provide Hansard minutes of the Legislature, nor are its sessions broadcast on the Government propaganda TV station, so it’s hard for the public to judge Dr. Brown’s doublespeak for themselves.
