Pucker Up for Platform Promises

February 21st, 2008 · No Comments

The PLP’s belt-busting budget took the breath away from many in the community - and even at $1.1 billion it’s missing some of the sweetener promises that featured so prominently in the election.

  • The promised free public transportation is on hold for now, because apparently everyone is too busy getting high.
  • The FutureCare programme is a ways out too, because they don’t have a clue what it really means.

The Government has just released an RFP for futurecare [Word .doc] looking for help in defining FutureCare, what it will cost Bermuda, and how to pay for it.

Showing the confusion of many PLP leaders regarding what is ours versus theirs, it identifies the FutureCare electioneering as a feature of the “BERMUDA GOVERNMENT PLATFORM 2007.”

PS: Read it well. The last paragraph mentions that income tax may be considered as a source of funds to pay for it all. Alea iacta est.
