The Minister of Finance has released a response to the Auditor’s Report.
- As usual it is on the PLP website but cannot be found on the Government website.
- The Auditor’s Report does not seem to be publicly available either.
It is beyond me how Government can have so many communications people yet be so bad at communicating its message. All Government press releases, Ministerial Statements, events, and announcements should be front and centre of the Government website, with an RSS feed!
It’s hard to believe they are committed to freedom of information if they won’t even properly deliver the information they want us to know!
In related news, both Malta and Pakistan are moving ahead with public consultation on freedom of information laws, with the goal of advancing them into their legislatures this year. Notably, they have invited the structured input of FOI experts including journalists, Statewatch, Transparency International, the EU, and other international groups.
