So, what to do when the uproar about corruption, mismanagement, secrecy, and lack of accountability becomes so great that the country’s reputation begins to get sullied?
Of course, hire an overseas PR agency to spin your way out of it! Brilliant!
Nevermind the fact that BIBA already has one for this purpose. Nevermind the fact that the Cabinet Office already has a large internal PR team. Nevermind this does NOTHING to address the root problems that are causing the malcontent amongst Bermudians and our customers.
Nevermind this will become an exercise in burnishing the Premier’s tarnished reputation. It’s got nothing to do with Bermuda really.
Based on the meaningless pablum in the following quote, I assume he’s already hired his agency:
“Bermuda must come first for us and we hope that those who are spreading the negativity about our country will one day come to realise that this country does not exclusively belong to them, but Bermuda belongs to all of us who call Bermuda home. We will not entertain the opposition’s masquerade of debate but will conduct business of government, the people’s business in an efficient manner, focused on the task at hand and continuing to deliver as we promised we would.”
