A line in the Association of Caribbean Media Workers annual report sticks in my mind:
Pressures are linked to … the fact that the country is small and people have little room to re-invent themselves.
Ain’t that the truth. This is a major self-limitation in Bermuda as well. Smallness is not just geography; it’s mindset. It’s hard to re-invent yourself in a country where so many people have known you since birth.
It is even harder when leaders of the country are pushing people into traditional boxes as a political and social strategy.
