As part of the instability of Gordon Brown’s government, pushed along by the MP expense scandal, the UK has shuffled responsibilities at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
Welsh MP Chris Bryant has been assigned the role of the Under Secretary of State responsible for the British Overseas Territories (including Bermuda).
His predecessor, Gillian Merron has been made Minister for Public Health.
Read his wiki bio for all the juice. This will set some tongues wagging. I suspect he won’t be around in this role for long.
