Dr. Brown is in Copenhagen this week, forcefully pushing his agenda to make sure that Dr. Brown gets maximum international media coverage.
Seriously, he’s blinking away on the news complaining that global warming will mess up our beaches and hurt tourism (understatement of the year). And he hopes the big countries will deal with it like a military manoeuvre … because err the military are known for being so environmentally sensitive.
I see little reason for Dr. Brown to be there, expect for the limelight and photo ops.
However, in the wake of this weekend’s 14th shooting, I see every reason for him to be here. In my opinion, the Premier’s fight to gobble up “operational control” of the Police is a red herring. I suspect that if a fraction of the grassroots organisation that goes into politics were instead applied to community building, our streets would be a lot more peaceful.
