The Government media release says:

“The Bermuda Department of Tourism will not renew its contract with Sales Focus, the Ministry of Tourism and Transport announced today. Department of Tourism officials have officially notified the company in accordance with contractual stipulations. The Sales Focus contract is due to expire in about six months.”

When Sales Focus was hired, the Premier said:

“Their agreement is that the more they sell, the more they get paid. The less they sell, the less they get paid.

The indications are that Sales Focus has already laid off the agents assigned to Bermuda.  So are they getting paid for six months of delivering … nothing?

This whole affair seems to have been poorly considered and executed.  Many are anxiously waiting to hear what comes next from Ann Shutte, the new Tourism head of operations … an important leadership hire who has been strangely absent from public view.

We’d like to see some management … a plan … some openness.  I think many are tired of hearing the Premier’s voice … he’s a natural speaker with great charisma … but that diet of whatever magic spin he’s cooked up for the day is getting a bit thin.
