Last week, controversial Senator Marc Bean went on a rant criticising the PLP’s handling of the education system. Is he acting as an understudy to Lt. Col. Burch as resident-loose-cannon? Is he trying to out-rolfe Rolfe?
He was apparently told off as he’s amended the rant:
“Upon reflection I recognise that my words may have created discomfort among the hardworking men and women in this Government who since 1998 have striven to overcome the failed education system, the economic inequity and the institutional racism that we inherited from the former Government.”
Ok, you clear now? It’s not the PLP’s fault. Even though we’ve been in power for 12 years, it’s still the UBP’s fault. And you are all still racists.
He does make a point that perhaps we should not solely focus on the black Bermudians who have reached the top of their professions, but should also celebrate the many entrepreneurs who have set up their own businesses. Indeed, we should, because they are the backbone of our society. In addition … they are taxpayers, and lord knows, the way the PLP spends money, we need more of ‘em!
