Blustery Opinions From Bermuda

We are getting used to hearing all sorts of gloomy adjectives being paired with Bermuda these days.

So, it’s extra sooper nice to hear that the Paris MoU Committee (aka the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control) has named Bermuda, France, and the United Kingdom as the best performing ship “flags” in the world.

The Paris MoU white/gray/black lists are used to prioritise incoming ships for port state control inspections – so this is an advantage for Bermuda-flagged ships.

Bermuda has registered shipping since 1789.  Today’s Department of Maritime Administration operates a category 1, Red Ensign Group British Register.  It’s one of those little areas of Government that actually makes money – and professionally managed – never seems to cause a fuss.

Congrats!
