This afternoon a package containing a “strange-smelling powder” was delivered to a local company, causing the Hazmat team to be called out and Front Street to be closed for nearly two hours.

As it happens, an individual prominent in the recent protests against Dr. Brown’s leadership actions is employed in that building.  So, one can only assume this is a threat.

Funny how similar this is to Dr. Brown’s own mystery “election bullets” and “funny cheques” (wonder how those “investigations” are going?).  It seems that some people will stop at nothing to keep the pressure up.

Is this the Bermuda you want to live in?

“It is clear that they may also have been used to support and to catalyse invasive, costly and time-consuming investigations into Government’s actions in relation to the Court/Police station project.”

Independent investigations should be undertaken into both the courthouse project and the funny cheques.   Don’t you think this is getting a little weird, even by Bermuda standards?  It’s a perpetual sideshow around here!

Oh, and how are those investigations going into the “election bullet” and Thaao’s knife holdup?

UPDATE:  I heard the Premier on the radio this morning speculating that the mysterious “kickback cheques” were an attempt to stoke up support for an independent inquiry into corruption (presumably a la Turks & Caicos).  Umm, is that really what he’s worried about?  Because I would be particularly disappointed if he could be bought for a mere $15,000.   As I said:  a perpetual sideshow.
